Our Curriculum
At Little Birch we have created a progressive curriculum that allows us to support our children to explore and learn about the world around them, whilst giving the children an opportunity to lead their playing and learning in a way that is relevant and exciting to them.

Each half term we create a learning plan based around seasonal themes and festivals, this includes a reading spine of 6 carefully chosen books and progressive whole setting learning objectives to support the children in the prime areas of learning.

Practitioners carefully assess children throughout the term against the 7 curriculum areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework (EYFS), using these assessments we create a set of 'next steps' for each child in the 3 prime areas of; Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Communication and Language, and Physical Development. Practitioners support children in their individual areas of development using the learning plan and reading spine, combined with children's interests to ensure that every child thrives during their time at Little Birch.
